The first occupational therapy educational program was established in 1943 at Texas State College for Women, which later became Texas Woman's University.

OTA Programs

The first program for occupational therapy assistants was established in 1964 at the Houston Health Department in Houston. This was a nine month certificate program which became a two year technical program and was moved Houston Community College. The following Texas schools offer OTA programs.
